Strategic Vision is a bi-monthly journal published by the Taiwan Center for Security Studies that examines issues and events related to security in Taiwan and the wider region. We are committed to producing timely and comprehensive pieces to reach invested policymakers and academics working in the field of cross-strait relations, regional security, and strategic studies.

Submission Guidelines

Essays

  • Word Count: Essay submissions for publication shall not exceed 2,000 words in length
    • Synopsis: 100 – 200 words
    • Background Description: 100 – 200 words
    • Analysis: 800 – 1,000 words
    • Policy Recommendations: 200 – 300 words

Book Reviews

  • Word Count: Book reviews shall not exceed 1,200 words in length
  • Author’s Notes: Formatted as endnotes and should be kept to a minimum

Authors are encouraged to submit essays and reviews as attachments to emails. Microsoft Word files are preferred. For questions of style and usage, writers should consult the Chicago Manual of Style. Authors of unsolicited manuscripts are encouraged to consult with the executive editor at xiongmu@gmail.com before formal submission via email.

The views expressed in the articles are the personal views of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of their affiliate institution or Strategic Vision. Once accepted for publication, manuscripts become the intellectual property of Strategic Vision. Manuscripts are subject to copy editing, both mechanical and substantive, as required and according to editorial guidelines. No major alterations may be made by an author once the type has been set. Arrangements for reprints should be made with the editor. The editors are responsible for the selection and acceptance of articles; responsibility for opinions expressed and accuracy of facts in articles published rests solely with individual authors.
