Taiwan Center for Security Studies (TCSS) at the Institute of International Relations, National Chengchi University offers a Visiting Fellows Program* for tenure-track professors, established analysts, and young research fellows, with the focus on diplomatic strategy, traditional and non-traditional security, as well as policy issues in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

*Please note that TCSS does not provide funding or research grants for our Visiting Fellows Program

We encourage fellows to share their ongoing or recently completed research at TCSS with the wider policy community in Taiwan. TCSS-IIR senior researchers offer professional guidance and consultation for visiting fellows’ independent studies. If further research is needed, the center shall arrange and facilitate meetings with other partner institutions at home and abroad.

In addition, the Center also organizes regular conferences, meetups and research sessions to develop a long-standing network with entities and individuals in the government, policy community, academia, and industry. Please note that the Program provides no grant or stipend.

During the research period, the visiting fellows are expected to actively associate and participate in the Center’s events and abide by the following obligations.

  1. Contribute 800-word analytical commentary for the monthly TCSS newsletter throughout the visit.
  2. Produce a publishable research paper on TCSS’ Strategic Vision by the end of the research period.
  3. Present research outcomes at the Center in the last month of the visit.
  4. Visiting fellows are expected to support other ongoing TCSS research programs, networks and activities relevant to their research interests.
  5. Individual research rooms are available for application with required fees.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU SOON!
