A delegation from the American Legion, the world’s largest veterans service organization, recently visited Taiwan to engage in meaningful dialogue with the Veterans Affairs Council and other key stakeholders. This trip is part of the Legion’s ongoing efforts to monitor and understand international situations, particularly those affecting national security and regional stability.
The American Legion, a resolution-based organization headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, represents over 3 million U.S. war veterans. The delegation’s mission in Taiwan centered on gathering accurate information to inform the organization’s stance on critical issues, including Taiwan’s national defense and economic stability.
The Legion has previously passed multiple resolutions regarding Taiwan, reinforcing the island’s right to defend itself against aggression and maintain stability. By working closely with the Veterans Affairs Council and fostering dialogue, the delegation hopes to build a foundation for future collaboration.
The American Legion’s trip underscores its commitment to being an informed and active voice on issues of national security and veteran affairs, particularly in regions of strategic importance like Taiwan.
